Ted Weicker is the driving force behind the development of the Qatalyst consulting model. He has over 30 years of experience in management consulting, is the President of Qatalyst Research Group Inc. and former Managing Partner of Goss Gilroy Inc. He is both a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and a Credentialed Evaluator with the Canadian Evaluation Society. Ted holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. Since graduating very near the top of his MBA class from the Ivey School of Business at Western, Ted has established a prominent career specializing in undertaking assignments for government, industry and the nonprofit sector.
Slavica Stevanovic is Managing Partner of Qatalyst, operating as a serving as chief operating officer. As a consultant, she specializes in public-sector research, including in the areas of program design, organization review, strategic development, and project evaluations. She is a Credentialed Evaluator and has over 12 years of experience in management consulting. Slavica holds an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Arts in Immigration and Settlement Studies, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Slavica is also a certified Project Manager Professional (PMP), which is the industry-recognized certification for project managers, recognizing individual skills and the ability to manage large-scale projects in any industry. She has conducted a large number of assignments for all levels of government (e.g. Western Economic Diversification, FedDev Ontario, Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Employment and Social Development Canada, Alberta Health, Alberta Health Services, Alberta Children and Youth, Department of Justice, Health Canada, and the BC Ministry of Advanced Education) as well as non-profit organizations.
Eyyub Hajiyev is a Senior Associate at Qatalyst with 11 years of experience in management consulting. Eyyub holds a Master of Social Work from Columbia University as well as a Master of Business Administration. A Credentialed Evaluator with the Canadian Evaluation Society, Eyyub currently serves as Vice President of the Society’s BC/Yukon Chapter. He has conducted over 30 research and evaluation assignments for a diverse range of clients, including federal and provincial government departments and Indigenous communities and organizations. He has expertise in developing evaluation frameworks, undertaking program evaluations, conducting key informant interviews, organizing focus group discussions, administering online surveys and preparing evaluation reports.
Jilayne is the Business Development & Proposal Manager at Qatalyst. She is a University of Waterloo graduate with several years of professional writing, project management, and business communications experience within corporate training and consulting environments. At Qatalyst, Jilayne is responsible for the creation and development of proposals to showcase Qatalyst’s comprehensive and unique service offerings for the private, public, and NFP sectors.
Dylan Weicker is the Chief Technical Officer at Qatalyst. He has a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from UBC and six years of experience in web development. At Qatalyst, he is primarily developing and maintaining the Qatalyst consulting portal as well as our corporate dashboard, RFP harvesting tools, proposal development system, and project management system.
Jacky Zhang is an economist at Qatalyst with 3 years of applied research and development, economic and data analysis, and evaluation experience. Jacky holds a Master of Economics degree from the University of Toronto with a specialization in Econometrics. At Qatalyst, Jacky is primarily involved in economic development, performance measurement, impact analysis, and data science related projects, creating custom data models to deliver insights and implement action-oriented solutions to complex business problems.
Shea Wakefield joined Qatalyst as a Research Analyst in 2021. He holds a Master of Science in Environmental Economics and Management from Thompson Rivers University as well as a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Victoria. His research experience includes public resource allocation and cost-benefit analysis, environmental impact valuation, and socioeconomic impact assessment. Prior to joining Qatalyst, Shea worked in the academic research and financial services/investment fields.
Kalyani Vartak is a social science researcher with 5 years of academic research experience. Kalyani holds a PhD degree from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, India. She has taught courses in sociology, gender studies and research methods to over 250 undergraduate and graduate students. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, the Handbook of Internal Migration in India, Sage Publications (2020), and Migrants, Mobility and Citizenship in India by Routledge (2021). Kalyani has worked with diverse stakeholders such as academics, self-employed women, indigenous groups and refugees. She believes in finding evidence-based solutions and has worked closely with start-ups and non-profit organizations in India, USA and Canada. At Qatalyst, Kalyani is involved in conducting qualitative and quantitative research and writing reports. She is fluent in five languages including French and Spanish.
Bernardo Garza Sauza is an Engineer with an honours diploma in a Business Administration. He has more than 10 years of experience as an administrative manager. He has also had experience in the development and implementation of social media and marketing campaigns, also worked with national and international companies where he enhanced communication to improve relations between the companies. Bernardo joined Qatalyst in 2019 and is focused on implementing marketing programs and further developing administration systems and policies.
Sayeh Yousefi is a researcher at Qatalyst with a background in behavioural science, conflict studies, and economic development research. She holds an MA in Political Science at the University of Alberta and is a recent graduate of the Peace, Conflict, and Justice BA Honours program at the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto. Sayeh’s research interests focus on how bias influences decision-making, particularly for political leaders, as well as the role of cognition in conflict management and collective behaviour. Sayeh has worked on research involving employment opportunities available to immigrants, economic development for Indigenous communities, and the labour market outcomes of specialized university programs. At Qatalyst, she works as a researcher, working on surveys, focus groups, and report writing.
Nana Asamoah works at Qatalyst as a researcher. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with Statistics from the University of Ghana. As part of his duties at Qatalyst, Nana analyzes data and drafts reports. Nana’s research experience includes time-series and panel data analysis, survey data analysis, cost-benefit analysis, economic impact assessment and policy analysis. He has been a research coach for over 70 undergraduate students and taken part in numerous and varied academic researches. Nana believes that research plays a crucial part in every success story and wants to be a part of that success story.
