Barbara Everdene

Barbara Everdene is a community planner with a Masters in Community and Regional Planning from the University of British Columbia. She is a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP). Over her 25 year career, Barbara has led a diverse range of environmental, social, economic, land use, and Indigenous planning initiatives. She is currently the Principal of Everdene Consulting based in Vernon, British Columbia. From 2021 to 2024, Barbara worked in local government as a social and policy planner and created the City of Vernon's first endorsed Housing Action Plan, Age and Dementia Friendly Plan, Climate Action Plan and Official Community Plan Engagement Strategy informed by commitments to Reconciliation, anti-racism, diversity and inclusion. Over 2007 to 2017, Barbara worked internationally in inclusive market and economic development policy and planning across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, helping partners identify and develop market opportunities across a range of sectors.
