Dr. Ambroso is an experienced evaluator with a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Evaluation. His areas of expertise include qualitative analysis, case study research and evaluation, and data visualization. His dissertation research examined how teachers at an urban high school implemented a restrictive language policy in their classrooms while supporting the needs of students from refugee backgrounds. The year-long ethnographic case study included over 300 hours of classroom observations and multiple interviews with three teachers and 32 student participants, who collectively spoke 15 different first languages. His research has been published in journals such as Journal of Teacher Education, Linguistics and Education, Language and Education, Journal of Multicultural Affairs, and Global Education Review.
Dr. Ambroso has worked in Canada and the United States on evaluation projects funded by Employment and Social Development Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities, World Education Services, the U.S. National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education, the Arizona Department of Education, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Helios Education Foundation.
