Steve Nicol

Steve Nicol of Lions Gate Consulting graduated from UBC with MBA and BA degrees and is registered as a Certified Management Consultant with the Canadian Association of Management Consultants. He is also a long-time member of the International Association for Impact Assessment. Steve has had extensive involvement in the areas of economic development, economic analysis and business/feasibility planning over the last 35 years. His economic development experience includes research and analysis, engagement, strategic planning, policy and implementation, for all levels of government and non-profit organizations. In the last 10 years, he has prepared economic development, investment attraction and opportunity studies for numerous communities in BC, Alberta, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Alberta and the Yukon. Steve's economic work focuses on natural resources with numerous socio-economic baseline and impact studies for timber supply reviews, land and resource management plans, sustainable resource management plans and miscellaneous resource management strategies. He has led or participated in socio-economic assessments for energy, mining and transportation projects engaged in the EA process, and consulted to government on marine, land, resource and tourism planning initiatives. He is an experienced project manager working directly with project proponents or as part of multi-disciplinary consortia.
