Rocky Gill joined Qatalyst as a Research Analyst in April 2024. He attended Wilfrid Laurier University, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Honours Economics in 2020, and his Master of Arts in Business Economics in 2022, specializing in Macroeconomics and Monetary Policy. Excelling in his academics, Rocky finished at the top of his program and was awarded the John R. Finlay Memorial Scholarship for the highest GPA. Rocky is enthusiastic about conducting quality research to help drive impactful change. His MA thesis is seeking publication as it provides unprecedented research to improve the conduction of Monetary Policy in Canada. In particular, his paper jointly identifies policy-rate and money-supply shocks using real-time data from the Bank of Canada. Rocky also volunteered his time as a Research Assistant with the City of Brampton prior to joining Qatalyst Research Group, working on a wide range of economic and community issues where his efforts helped improve the experience of visible and vulnerable communities in Brampton.
